Dusty Blue Spring Wedding at the DR Yacht & Tennis Club

Corisa’s Dusty Blue and Sage Wedding took place at the Deep River Yacht and Tennis Club; a venue we’ve flowered many times in the past. The Yacht Club overlooks the Ottawa River, where Quebec’s coast of mountainous terrain creates a surreal backdrop.

Surrounding the beach is a wooded trail, which adds a secluded feel to the venue.

Corisa and Chad opted for an intimate waterside wedding on a beautiful July afternoon.

Small weddings have become the trend post-COVID, and The Yacht Club lends itself perfectly as an intimate space.

Corisa’s wedding floral requests centered around simplicity, so that was my goal as I planned her wedding flowers.

The groom’s boutonniere features campanula, echinops, cress, eucalyptus, delphinium and agrostemma; all grown on our Flower Farm.

July can be a finicky time for locally grown flowers. We tend to find ourselves in between our finishing spring bloomers and soon-to-start summer bloomers. To achieve the colour palette and style Corisa envisioned I relied on reserved peonies and campanula just for her wedding.

White zinnias and agrostemma made up our supporting cast. And to achieve a dusty blue look, I included two shades of delphinium chinensis and white echinops into Corisa’s bridal bouquet.

Her colour palette perfectly highlighted the blue/green hues of the mountains behind her, and the water beneath her. What a scene!

A warm congratulations to Corisa and Chad!
